You deserve to pick good shows without worrying what's in them. No bickering.
That is the whole idea. Twenty minutes of scrolling, somebody gives up, you settle on something nobody actually wanted, and half the night is gone. Then the other worry: it looked fine, and now there is a scene you have to talk your way around.
Nobody is answering that question for you. The streaming apps are built to keep you watching, not to tell you whether your nine-year-old should see this. The ratings board stopped at a letter years ago. Everyone else is either selling the thing or reading you a database.
So we watch it first
We are the Selfors family. Brandon, Renee and the kids. We sit down with the same shows you are deciding on, we write down what we actually thought, and each of us stamps a letter grade. Those go on the Report Card, in our own words, whether we liked it or not.
What the grades mean
Everyone grades A to F and the family grade is the average of whoever watched. A title that comes in at B- or better is a Good Pick and can turn up in the nightly lists. Below that it is a Bad Pick, and we never suggest it again. The review stays up, because "skip it" is a real answer and it is usually the most useful one.
If one of us fell asleep, it says so. That counts as watched and carries no grade.
What you will never find here
No horror, at any rating. No gambling apps, and no sportsbook ads. Ads are labelled every time, and a sponsor can buy a spot on this site but never a grade, never a take, and never a place in our picks. The moment a good word is for sale, none of the rest of it is worth reading.
