1. Who we are

GoodPick.tv is a family streaming-recommendation guide. This policy explains what information is involved when you use the site and your choices about it.

2. We don't require accounts

There is no sign-up, login, password, or profile. You can use the entire site without giving us any personal information.

3. Information stored on your device (localStorage)

To make the app work without accounts, we save small settings in your own web browser's local storage, on your device, not on our servers. This includes: which streaming services you've toggled on or off ("My Apps"), your app-usage streak and last-visit date, whether you've dismissed prompts (the install banner, the first-visit hint), and whether you've opted into an alert list on this device.

This data stays on your device, is not tied to your identity, and is not transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data, switching browsers, or using a new device erases it. Settings do not follow you across devices.

4. Outbound affiliate and tracking links

Many buttons on GoodPick.tv ("Watch," "Get," "Order Pizza," "Get on Amazon," etc.) are affiliate links. When you tap one, you pass through a partner tracking network before arriving at the destination (for example a streaming app, the App Store, Amazon, DoorDash, or Instacart). Those networks may set a cookie or identifier so the partner can credit GoodPick.tv if you make a purchase or sign up. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate and partner networks we use include (as applicable): Amazon Associates, Impact.com partners (which may include Hulu, Paramount+, Peacock, DoorDash, UberEats, Instacart and others), the Apple Services affiliate program, and FlexOffers. Each partner's own privacy policy governs what they collect once you leave our site.

5. Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand which pages help and to improve the site. That means anonymous, summed-up usage data such as pages viewed, taps, general device and browser type, and approximate region. We will name the specific analytics tool here when it goes live. We do not sell this data, and we do not use it to identify you personally.

6. Advertising

We may display ads through third-party ad partners (for example Ezoic or Mediavine). These partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including interest-based advertising. Their data practices are governed by their own privacy policies. Where required, you will be shown a consent option for ad and analytics cookies.

7. Email (only if you give it to us)

The homepage never asks for your email. On some subpages you may choose to enter an email, for example a game-day broadcast alert, "email tonight's picks," or a seasonal price-drop heads-up. If you do: we use your email only to send the specific alerts or messages you requested; it is stored with our email provider (for example MailerLite / ConvertKit / Loops) or sent via a transactional mail service (for example Resend / SendGrid); and every message includes an unsubscribe link, so you can opt out any time.

We do not sell or rent your email address.

8. Third-party data sources

Recommendation content is compiled using data from services such as TMDB, TVMaze, and TheSportsDB. "Data provided by TVMaze" and TMDB attributions appear as required. These sources provide catalog and schedule information and do not receive information about you from us.

9. Children's privacy

GoodPick.tv is a guide for parents and caregivers about family content. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because there are no accounts and no required personal information, the site does not gather identifying data from any user, including minors. If you believe a child has provided personal information (for example by entering an email), contact us and we will delete it.

10. What we do NOT do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not require or store account credentials. We do not store your "My Apps" preferences on our servers.

11. Your choices

Preferences: clear your browser's site data to erase everything stored on your device.
Email: unsubscribe from any message, or contact us to be removed.
Cookies, ads, and analytics: use your browser controls and, where offered, our on-site consent option to limit non-essential cookies.
Region-specific rights (e.g. GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA): depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, or opt out of certain data uses. Contact us at goodpicks@emboss.io to exercise them.

12. Data security & retention

We keep collected data (analytics, any email you provide) only as long as needed for the purposes above. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect information handled by our providers.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "Effective date" above shows the latest version; material changes will be posted on this page.
